The NOAA Office of Ocean Exploration and Research offers a compelling opportunity to observe live explorations of the ocean's depths aboard the NOAA Ship Okeanos Explorer. This app facilitates streaming video directly from remotely operated vehicles operating on the seafloor at remarkable depths of up to 6,000 meters (3.7 miles), bringing users face-to-face with the wonders of the deep sea.

Users can engage with a team of scientists from around the globe as they embark on groundbreaking explorations in some of Earth's last unexplored regions. Through live discussions, viewers are privy to real-time findings and witness discoveries as they materialize.

Additionally, the app offers important geographical updates regarding the location of NOAA Ship Okeanos Explorer, alongside real-time information about ongoing dives. Even though deep-ocean ecosystems are increasingly recognized for their significance to our daily lives, knowledge of these areas remains limited compared to shallower waters. Consequently, this research initiative plays a crucial role in addressing knowledge gaps related to management, regulation, and resource utilization in deep-water regions.
